A motor’s warranty duration is not the complete answer for a paddleboard rental business or paid instructor. First establish whether the actual intended use falls within the manufacturer’s stated coverage. Equipment selected for a personal weekend trip and equipment repeatedly issued to paying customers can have different commercial conditions.
Read the use category before the number of years
The current limited warranty on Bixpy’s US manufacturer website describes recreational consumer use as its ordinary coverage. It specifically lists commercial operations, rentals, fleets, guiding and instructional or other revenue-generating activities as outside that coverage unless Bixpy expressly authorizes them in writing. This is the maker’s policy scope, not a ruling on statutory rights or another seller’s obligations.
A supplier answering only with a one-year or two-year badge has not answered that use-category question. Ask it to identify the covered activity and the document governing the offered equipment. A personal-use warranty page should not be presented as written authorization for a rental fleet.
Describe the business arrangement precisely
Prepare a short use description before requesting an equipment quotation: rental without an accompanying guide, paid guided trips, instruction, demonstration stock or another arrangement. Identify who owns the equipment, who operates it and where it will be used. Avoid assuming that a small number of boards or occasional payments makes the activity recreational under a particular policy.
Keep different confirmations in separate rows:
- Intended product use: whether the manufacturer supports the proposed activity.
- Written warranty scope: which components and conditions any commercial authorization covers.
- Service arrangements: the supplier responsible for support and the applicable process.
- Operator responsibilities: the instruction, maintenance and local requirements that still need their own evidence.
Approval in one row does not complete the others. An insurer’s acceptance, a physical adapter fit or a repair contact is not a manufacturer’s commercial-use warranty authorization.
Include the people and documentation in the purchase decision
The SipaBoards v2.1 instruction manual assigns the owner responsibility for understanding the manual and instructing other users. That manufacturer-specific statement illustrates an ownership issue separate from warranty duration. It does not establish that a SipaBoard or another motor system is approved for a particular rental business.
Ask for the current equipment-specific documents needed to plan handover, inspections and authorized service. Resolve missing information before building a commercial offer around the equipment. This article supplies no operator certification, legal permission, training programme or assurance about local business rules. TRIMIX has not approved a commercial installation or confirmed commercial propulsion supply.
Ask about the complete SUP setup
The TRIMIX SUP compatibility checklist covers the separate hardware-fit question. To ask about actual SUP thruster availability and fitment, provide the board, fin-box, motor and adapter models, your country and the ownership question identified here. No SUP motor is currently listed in the public TRIMIX catalog. An inquiry does not confirm supply, compatibility or an order.
