Berlin, Paris and London will host the 2027 World Aquatics Swimming World Cup. For swimming fans, the important detail goes beyond recognising three Olympic cities: different new Olympic sprint events have been assigned to different stops. Read the city, dates and designated events together when following the announced qualification route.

Three weekends, with different sprint events

Aquatics GB’s October 21 announcement confirms its agreement to host the final stop at London Aquatics Centre. It also identifies the preceding Berlin and Paris dates and the six designated men’s and women’s events. The announced allocation is:

  • Berlin, October 15–17, 2027: men’s 50m backstroke and women’s 50m butterfly.
  • Paris, October 22–24, 2027: men’s 50m butterfly and women’s 50m breaststroke.
  • London, October 29–31, 2027: men’s 50m breaststroke and women’s 50m backstroke.

World Aquatics’ host announcement describes the proposed race progression for these events: morning heats and evening quarter-finals on day one, evening semi-finals on day two, then an eight-lane final on day three. It says the top six finishers in those finals will secure places for LA28. This is the federation’s announced future competition route; no athlete has qualified through those 2027 races yet.

Build a calendar entry that retains the event

Our practical suggestion is to write a calendar note with three fields: stop, weekend and designated sprint. Recording only “World Cup in Europe” leaves out the detail that determines which race’s Olympic context you are following. A fan particularly interested in women’s backstroke, for example, needs the London allocation rather than assuming that every stop offers the same route.

The designated 50m events are only the part addressed by this qualification announcement. Keep a later full competition program separate from that shortlist. Otherwise, a reader can accidentally treat six highlighted events as an exhaustive list of everything that will be raced.

Distinguish a host announcement from a completed visit plan

The World Aquatics page links a ticket-interest signup. Expressing interest is a different stage from holding an admission ticket for a named session. We have not registered, checked ticket availability or booked travel. Readers can use the official pages to follow future session and ticket information without treating this early calendar as a completed booking.

Likewise, the announcement is not a personal eligibility decision or an open entry invitation. Prospective competitors need the applicable entry and qualification documents from their governing bodies. For another example of why published event conditions deserve close attention, see our Swim GP format explainer.

Checked October 26, 2026. Aquatics GB report: October 21. World Aquatics’ page displays October 20 and carries an October 21 dateline; both refer to this October host announcement. All race dates above are in 2027.
