Oceanic has announced the O.i Wrist dive computer, combining a new control interface with several kinds of connectivity. For a prospective buyer, the useful first step is to separate those connections. Surface position logging, phone or browser synchronization and underwater cylinder-pressure integration do different jobs.
A new announcement with a stated release window
The manufacturer’s announcement was posted October 27 and updated October 28, 2026. It describes a 2.4-inch colour display and NavDial interface. These are manufacturer descriptions of the announced hardware, not results from a TRIMIX evaluation.
The current product record says units are shipping to Oceanic’s retail network, with worldwide availability expected in mid-November. That is a release expectation checked October 30, not confirmation that a particular country’s dealer has a unit available today.
Give each connection its own row
Oceanic describes GPS as recording surface entry and exit locations. Its product record separately identifies air integration with an optional Oceanic Wireless Transmitter, supporting up to three transmitters. A surface location feature should not be read as continuous underwater GPS tracking, and optional equipment should not be assumed to arrive with the computer.
The manufacturer’s FAQ says phone or tablet communication is disabled during a dive while the cylinder-transmitter link can remain active within its operating range. Those answers concern different interfaces. Neither supports assuming unrestricted underwater communication with an ordinary phone.
Check activation and ownership before purchase
The same FAQ says an Oceanic+ account is needed for full activation and describes onboarding through an iPhone app or WebApp. Before choosing a package, ask which current platform and account requirements apply to your own device. Keep any subscription or service question explicit rather than assuming every ecosystem feature has identical terms.
Ask the authorised supplier for the exact package contents and compatible transmitter identification. Resolve the instructions and certification scope for the intended configuration with qualified support; a short launch report does not select gases, algorithms, decompression settings or a personal diving limit.
Evaluate the complete offer
A useful comparison record can hold the hardware model, included parts, optional transmitter, supported setup platform, local availability and applicable instructions. Leave unanswered fields open. This prevents a feature list from becoming an unsupported promise about a complete ready-to-use system.
TRIMIX has not tested the O.i Wrist and has no verified listing or stock for it. The photograph shows a different historical TUSA computer photographed in 2007; it is equipment context, not the O.i, its interface, a comparison test or an endorsement. Follow Oceanic’s current documentation for subsequent changes.
