A SUP Motor Standby Timer Is Different From Boost Duration or Battery Runtime

A number of minutes on a motor description can refer to several different functions. Before interpreting an automatic shutoff as a battery-endurance figure, find out what starts the timer and which state ends when it expires. Time spent waiting for a command is different from time spent providing assistance.

Find the condition attached to the number

The Boost Surfing Quick Start Guide says the fin turns off automatically after being on and unused for 30 minutes, with the standby timer adjustable in the app. The separate on/off help article also describes a configurable 30-minute default shutdown timer. These are attributed descriptions of the maker’s timer behaviour, not a TRIMIX test or a universal function of electric SUPs.

The useful qualification is inactivity. Do not remove it when comparing products. A standby setting does not measure the battery’s available propulsion time, and an idle shutdown should not be described as a guaranteed automatic response to a rider leaving the board.

Separate three time questions

Time description Question to put to the supplier
Standby interval What inactivity or state starts the timer, and what is switched off?
Assistance duration What determines how long the selected active programme commands power?
Battery endurance Which model, output and documented test conditions support the stated running time?

Compare complete answers in their own rows. A seller who supplies only one number has not necessarily answered all three questions. Ask which settings are adjustable, where the current value is recorded and whether the actual hardware and software revision is covered by the explanation.

Consider what a pause means for ownership

Describe the ordinary pauses you expect in the intended activity and ask the manufacturer how the documented control state applies. This is a usability question: what should the owner understand about the equipment after a period of non-use? Obtain the correct instructions rather than improvising a reset or activation sequence from a general blog.

Keep the timer description with the exact model’s control information. If a later app change alters a setting, update that record after obtaining the applicable guidance. A remembered default is not proof of the current value on a particular unit.

The buying result should be a clear description of ordinary idle behaviour, with separate evidence for active programmes and runtime. It should not become a route allowance, reserve, automatic rescue function or permission to bypass a stopping component. TRIMIX has not measured standby consumption or tested these shutdown functions.

Ask about the complete SUP setup

The TRIMIX SUP compatibility checklist covers the separate physical-fit question. To ask about actual SUP thruster availability and documentation, provide the board, fin-box, motor and adapter models, your country and the ownership question described here. There is no current public TRIMIX SUP-motor listing. Preparing an inquiry does not confirm supply, compatibility or an order, and does not automatically send an email.
