The PanAm Aquatics Masters Championships programme in Buenos Aires spans October 19–29, 2026, but swimmers following it should distinguish the discipline dates. Swimming Canada’s current event page lists pool swimming for October 21–27 and open-water swimming for October 29. It also identifies 18 Canadian Masters athletes expected to represent their clubs in swimming and open water. See Swimming Canada’s event information.

One championship, several different programmes

The PanAm Aquatics organiser page brings together swimming, open water, diving, artistic swimming and water polo, with separate discipline documents. It also lists in-person coach clinics, including a “Train Smarter, Perform Longer” programme scheduled for October 21–23. The organiser’s page is the useful starting point for the current schedule and announcements; this article does not report race outcomes or confirm that a particular session has already taken place.

Small procedural details can matter

The linked official English event summons contains more than an event timetable. Its swimming provisions say competitors should report to the call room at least 30 minutes before their scheduled race. Relay members must belong to the same swimming club. It lists a deadline of 15:00 on October 24 for permitted relay substitutions after the technical meeting, without changing the age group. These are event-specific instructions; athletes should consult the current summons and on-site updates for their complete obligations.

A better way to follow Masters aquatics

For spectators, save the discipline-specific schedule rather than treating the championship’s first and last dates as the dates of every sport. Check the local time attached to a session before planning to watch from another country. A daytime competition in Buenos Aires may fall on a different calendar date for someone following from East Asia or Australia.

For swimmers considering a future Masters trip, the practical lesson is to build a folder containing the official entry conditions, club details, event schedule and later amendments. A general event announcement is useful for discovery, while the competition documents establish procedures. Looking at both gives a more complete picture of the commitment than a photograph of the venue.

This is also a chance to follow adult participation across different aquatic disciplines without assuming that every competitor has the same goals. Enjoy the racing and the community, while keeping entry rules and personal preparation specific to the event you actually intend to enter.

Ask TRIMIX about the specifications of a named product if you are comparing equipment for your own swimming plans; check permitted competition equipment with the organiser.
