A waterproof label belongs to a specified component in specified conditions. It should not silently become a promise about every charger, cable or exposed socket in a SUP propulsion kit. Before choosing deck equipment, make a component-by-component record of the actual water-protection claims and the instructions that qualify them.
Name the item that carries the rating
The current Bixpy PP-384 page lists an IP-67 rating for that power pack. Record the exact product identity and wording, rather than rewriting it as a rating for the whole board installation. The same page lists a supplied wall charger, but the presence of that item in the box does not assign the pack’s rating to it.
For a separately identified earlier model, the official Bixpy manual hub links the PP-378 V4 manual. That document explicitly distinguishes properly mated connectors from bare connections and says its charger is not waterproof. Those are instructions for the named PP-378 V4 system. They are useful evidence that component state matters, not permission to transfer a connector procedure or rating to a different battery.
Make a protection worksheet
Use a separate row for the motor, power pack, control, charging equipment and each connection type. Keep the maker’s written instructions beside each row. Where an item has no documented water rating, mark it unspecified; do not borrow a rating from another device pictured beside it.
- Which exact housing or component has the stated rating?
- Does the claim require specified caps, fully mated connectors or another documented configuration?
- What conditions apply while charging, when disconnected and during storage?
- Which inspection findings require the maker’s advice before further use?
This record is a way to ask better questions, not a home test plan. Do not submerge equipment to verify an advertising claim or spray an open connection to see whether it still works. If the documentation describes a tested enclosure condition, preserve that condition in the inquiry rather than inventing an allowable operating depth or duration.
Resolve conflicting or incomplete wording
Send the manufacturer the product and revision, the exact claim and the instruction that seems to qualify it. Ask which document governs the equipment you actually own. A product page linked to an older manual needs clarification where the names or hardware differ. An answer for the old model should remain attached to that old model.
The TRIMIX SUP compatibility checklist covers the separate mounting question. To ask about availability and compatibility, provide the board, fin-box, thruster and adapter models and identify the proposed power pack. TRIMIX has no current public SUP-motor listing. No water-protection test, compatible supply or purchase is established by this guide or by preparing an inquiry.
Evidence and date notes
This is an evergreen practical guide checked October 28, 2026, not a new-product announcement.
