A remote is part of a propulsion system, rather than a generic waterproof accessory. Before ordering a replacement or a spare, identify the controller version and the equipment it is intended to communicate with. Similar buttons, matching colors or the same motor brand do not establish that two remotes are interchangeable.

Controller generations can matter

The Bixpy Outboard Remote Control page explicitly separates three versions by the battery status-light system: Bluetooth for white-LED batteries, versions two and three for blue-LED batteries, and version one for batteries with five green lights and one red light. The page also describes a stop button and says its remotes float. These are attributed details of that manufacturer’s range, not a selection rule for other motor brands.

The useful lesson is to record both the remote and its paired power-system identity. When details are uncertain, a photograph of the actual labels and status display is more helpful than saying that you own a blue or white motor. Ask the manufacturer which version code applies to that equipment before ordering.

Make a control-system record

Keep one short record for the setup you own or intend to buy. It should identify the motor, battery or control module, controller and all manufacturer-specified stopping components. Record any model revision and the relevant manual title. Bixpy’s official manual hub separates motor and power-pack documents, illustrating why one general product leaflet may not answer every control question.

  • Which exact remote version is supplied or required?
  • Which battery or control module does the remote communicate with?
  • Where are the model-specific instructions for pairing, normal stopping and any separate kill-switch function?
  • What does the manufacturer require the user to check before use, and which faults require authorized support?
  • Is an advertised spare already suitable for this system, or does its identity still need confirmation?

Keep the supplier’s answer attached to the correct configuration. A documented instruction for an earlier generation should not silently become an instruction for your replacement. Likewise, a remote’s water-ingress rating or buoyancy is a separate property from whether it controls the intended equipment.

Separate a stop control from an automatic claim

A stop button, a kill switch and any advertised automatic overboard function should each have an explicit description in the exact system’s documentation. Do not infer one from the existence of another. This guide does not supply an improvised operating or emergency procedure; use the manufacturer instructions and obtain help when the required behavior remains unclear. Do not modify or bypass a stopping component to make a mismatched controller appear usable.

The TRIMIX SUP compatibility checklist covers the wider setup. For an inquiry about a prospective motor or replacement arrangement, ask about availability and compatibility with the exact model/version details. There is currently no public TRIMIX SUP-motor listing; this discussion does not establish stock, compatibility or hands-on testing.
