A solar accessory can change how a propulsion battery is replenished, but it does not turn a paddleboard into an indefinitely powered craft. Before adding one to a quotation, match the panel, charging interface and actual power pack. Then ask whether charging and motor operation are permitted at the same time.
A named accessory has a named compatibility list
The current Bixpy SUN80 V2 page identifies PP-333, PP-378, PP-384 and PP-768 power packs, requires the correct charging cable and expressly says the motor will not run while this panel is connected. These are manufacturer statements about that accessory. They do not establish compatibility with other Bixpy packs, another brand or a cable selected because its connector looks similar.
Its charging-time examples are explicitly dependent on sunlight. Treat them as attributed estimates for the stated packs, rather than as a daily energy allowance or guaranteed turnaround between outings. A nominal panel output does not establish how much energy your particular location and setup will receive.
Put the complete charging arrangement in one row
| Item | Evidence to request |
|---|---|
| Stored energy | Exact power-pack model and revision |
| Solar accessory | Panel model, supported-pack list and applicable instructions |
| Connection | Named charging cable or controller supplied for that pack |
| Operating condition | Whether the documented arrangement permits motor operation during charging |
A useful supplier answer completes every cell. An unresolved cable or operating-condition cell should remain a purchase question; it is not permission to assemble a substitute. Keep the accessory documentation with the battery record so that a future battery replacement triggers another compatibility check.
Plan ownership separately from energy expectations
Bixpy’s January 22 battery-care article emphasizes the correct charging equipment and dry, supervised charging conditions for the battery models it names. Solar equipment does not remove the need for the actual pack’s instructions. This article supplies no wiring, parallel-connection, mounting or improvised charging procedure.
For the buying decision, describe when and where you expect to replenish the pack, how the panel will be transported, and who will confirm its permitted use. If the expectation is to recharge while continuously under motor power, the SUN80 statement above identifies a mismatch that should be resolved before purchase. Solar capability alone establishes neither an on-water range nor a return reserve.
Ask about the complete SUP setup
The TRIMIX SUP compatibility checklist covers the separate physical-fit question. To ask about actual SUP thruster availability and documentation, provide the board, fin-box, motor and adapter models, your country and the ownership question described here. There is no current public TRIMIX SUP-motor listing. Preparing an inquiry does not confirm supply, compatibility or an order, and does not automatically send an email.
