World Aquatics has announced two online sessions ahead of the Beijing short-course championships, with different intended audiences. The useful first decision is whether you are looking for a coach’s preparation discussion or an athlete’s pre-competition session. Keep the two calendar entries separate.
What the new announcement schedules
In its October 30 announcement, World Aquatics schedules a free coaches’ webinar for November 4, 2026, at 13:00 CET, via Zoom, lasting an expected sixty to ninety minutes. It names James Gibson, Russell Mark and Michael Piper as speakers and encourages coaches working with athletes preparing for Beijing to join.
The same announcement schedules an athlete-focused webinar for November 18, 2026, at 13:00 CET, with Kira Toussaint, concerning pre-competition nerves and travel demands. These are future scheduled sessions as checked October 31, not reports of completed events or evidence of participation.
Use the audience to choose the calendar entry
Before registering, write down who is attending and what question they want answered. A coach might want to clarify communication responsibilities with an athlete’s regular coach; an athlete might want to ask what information to request before travelling. The purpose is to arrive with a relevant question, not to adopt another swimmer’s competition plan.
Keep any personal training, taper, recovery or health decision with the professionals responsible for the individual athlete. A public webinar announcement establishes the session’s topic and intended audience; it does not supply an individual programme or guarantee a particular competition result.
Preserve the stated time zone
Copy the date, time and CET designation together before converting the event to your own calendar. Review the resulting local date as well as the hour, especially when colleagues are joining from different countries. If a shared message drops the time zone or confuses the two November dates, return to the organiser’s page.
Use the registration links reached from that official announcement and review the current details yourself. Check current registration, place availability and whether a recording is offered with the organiser. Recheck the official page for changes before making attendance arrangements.
Keep the illustration in context
The cover photograph shows a swimming-pool interior in San Fernando de Henares, Spain, dated November 2011. It is archival swimming context, not Beijing’s current venue, a webinar screen, an image of the named speakers or evidence that this facility is involved. No equipment purchase is needed to understand the announcement, and no product is presented as part of the event.
