Swimming Northern Territory advertises its Alice Springs Term 4 swimABILITY programme for Fridays from November 6 to December 18, 2026. For a family considering a later session, the useful next step is to confirm the programme arrangement for the learner, rather than treating an older announcement as a live guarantee of places.

Read the announcement and programme dates separately

The Swimming NT announcement was published October 21, 2026. It advertises a free programme at Alice Springs Aquatic and Leisure Centre on Fridays from November 6 to December 18, between 10 and 11 am. It describes the programme for young people living with physical, intellectual, hearing or vision impairments.

This is a current programme window, rather than a newly published November announcement. The first Friday session time has already passed by this article’s November 7 check. Its completion, attendance and outcomes have not been independently verified here; later advertised dates should still be confirmed with the organizer.

Separate the programme from the building

The council’s official centre information identifies the facility at 10 Speed Street, The Gap. It describes several pool areas, including an indoor pool with beach entry and ramp access. Those facility features provide useful background, but they do not identify the exact pool area, assistance or arrangement used by swimABILITY.

Before attending, ask the organizer which part of the centre the programme uses, where to meet and what arrival information is needed. If an access feature matters to the learner, confirm that feature for the actual session instead of inferring it from the building’s general description.

Prepare a specific participation inquiry

Give the organizer the relevant age and the practical support question through its appropriate private channel. Ask about registration, the intended session date, any support-person arrangements and what equipment or information the family should bring. Keep a confirmed response with the programme details.

The October article describes the programme as free and includes a registration route. It does not establish current capacity on November 7 or explain every possible entry or companion arrangement. Ask what the advertised free programme includes rather than assuming all associated access conditions have been settled.

Use the current window without inventing results

The scheduled November–December run makes the announcement relevant now. It does not show how many people will participate, establish a waiting-list position or guarantee a particular learning outcome. Confirm a later date before planning travel or treating a registration request as accepted.

This is a local participation update, separate from general guidance about inclusive lesson design. TRIMIX has not booked a place, contacted the programme or assessed an individual’s suitability. The organizer and centre remain the sources for the actual session arrangement.

Evidence and date notes

Current-event selection. Programme announcement published October 21, 2026; advertised run November 6–December 18, 2026. Council facility page is undated. November 6 is the scheduled start, not a new publication date or proof that a session occurred. Sources checked November 7, 2026. No session occurrence, live capacity or participant suitability has been independently verified here.
