Anti-fog supplies for a camera housing are not all the same shape, package or maintenance system. Before buying spares for a snorkeling trip, identify the housing and the consumable its manufacturer specifies. A small packet found in another product’s packaging is not documentation that it belongs inside your enclosure.

Compare the actual consumable

SeaLife’s blue SL911 Moisture Muncher capsules have their own dimensions, individual packaging and colour-indication description. The maker identifies blue-to-pink change for this product and requires airtight storage of unused older multi-capsule packs. Record that exact product identity rather than applying its indicator colours to every desiccant.

GoPro’s AHDAF-302 page describes a different insert format, supplied as fifteen inserts, with its own limited reuse and storage directions. A reusable insert and a colour-indicating capsule are different purchasing propositions. Their similar purpose does not establish cross-brand fit or shared care instructions.

Ask where the approved item belongs

The SportDiver S manual in SeaLife’s April 2025 file edition identifies a dedicated capsule cavity. It also distinguishes blue and orange indicator versions and their different colour changes. That is a reason to keep the supplied item code and its own instructions together, rather than judging all replacement capsules from a single familiar colour.

For your actual housing, ask the supplier for the approved part, location and replacement criterion. Do not improvise a location beside a seal, sensor, latch or control to make an unknown item fit. An insert is one component of the manufacturer’s preparation system; it does not replace closure checks or provide a flooding guarantee.

Make a trip supply record

  • Housing model and the current applicable manual.
  • Approved consumable code, physical format and quantity supplied.
  • Indicator or replacement criterion for that exact version.
  • Packaging and storage requirements before use.
  • Whether reuse is explicitly supported and where its exact instructions are retained.

This record is more useful than choosing the cheapest price per generic packet. Count usable, correctly stored supplies rather than assuming every item already exposed to humid air remains equivalent to a sealed spare. Use only maker-specified replacement or reuse instructions for the identified consumable. A different product’s treatment method is not transferable approval.

Request the correct spare

Ask about actual housing supplies using the housing and consumable codes. Include the format or indicator question that remains unresolved. These examples establish neither TRIMIX stock nor approval to substitute camera inserts for mask anti-fog treatments. An inquiry prepares an email; it does not send it or place an order.

Evergreen equipment guide checked November 4, 2026. SeaLife’s SL911 page metadata records publication May 18, 2019 and modification September 16, 2026; these are webpage dates, not launch dates. GoPro’s page is undated. The SeaLife manual file edition is April 2025, without a verified exact publication day. Manufacturer descriptions are not TRIMIX fogging or service-life tests.
