The next few weeks should give equipment enthusiasts plenty to follow as the diving industry prepares for DEMA Show 2026. The event is still ahead: the organizer schedules it for November 3–6 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans.
The official show news page currently carries October 20 items, making the preparations a timely subject. This article is a preview checked on October 22. It does not report demonstrations, awards or announcements as though the show has already happened.
Start with the public showcase
The organizer’s Product Showcase page lists exhibitor products and services intended for display in pods around the show floor. It describes a new 2026 Attendees’ Choice Award, with voting through displayed QR codes or the show app. The scheduled winner announcement is November 6 at 1 p.m. at DEMA Central. There is no winner to name yet.
For a reader at home, the useful opportunity is a structured shortlist. Save the exact product name, the company behind it and the question it raises for you. A waterproof phone housing, a mask accessory and an equipment system may all appear in the same showcase, but they solve different problems and need different evidence.
Distinguish an exhibit from availability
A listing tells you what an exhibitor wants to present. It does not, by itself, tell you that every configuration is shipping in your country, has a finished manual or has been independently tested. Look for the manufacturer’s own product page and a dated statement of status before building a purchase plan around it.
Use three labels in your notes: announced, demonstrated and available. Add a source beside each label. If the evidence establishes only one stage, leave the others open. This also makes later updates more informative: a new manual or a confirmed regional release is a concrete development worth following.
Understand who can attend
The official event site describes DEMA as a trade-only show. Its credential requirements say qualified dive, travel and action water-sports professionals must submit professional credentials. It is not a general consumer event where anyone should assume a public ticket is available.
If you work in the industry, check the category that actually matches your role and the required documents. If you are researching gear for personal use, the public sources can still help you follow developments without making an unnecessary travel or registration commitment.
Turn the news into useful questions
After the show, return to your shortlist rather than starting again from every headline. Ask what changed: a specification, a manual, a release date, a service arrangement or evidence from a clearly described demonstration. Keep any manufacturer claim attributed and any unresolved question visible.
That approach makes trade-show coverage useful to both a curious diver and a retailer evaluating a new category. The goal is a better understanding of the equipment, not the longest list of products with “new” beside their names.
Ask TRIMIX a specific question about a currently listed product, including which feature or document you want to compare.
Official pages checked October 22, 2026; most are undated. Current news index includes October 20 items. Event and award dates above are future scheduled dates and may change. TRIMIX has not attended or tested showcase products for this article.
