An inflatable board’s length on the water is not its packed size. Before buying a replacement transport bag, compare the actual packed kit with the bag’s stated dimensions and internal layout. A generous litre figure alone does not tell you whether the board, paddle sections and pump can be arranged as intended.
Start with a named bag
The current Red ATB Transformer Board Bag page lists a height of 980 mm, width of 380 mm, depth of 360 mm and volume of 134 litres. It also describes an internal paddle-blade pocket and a securing system for paddle pieces. These are specifications of that named bag, not confirmation that an unrelated board or an installed motor will fit inside it.
Keep the dimensions in their labelled order. Ask whether any required clearance or usable internal measurement is supplied separately. Wheels, padding and a shaped opening can matter to packing even when two bags have similar advertised volumes.
Inventory the kit that will actually travel
Make a list of the rolled board, detached fins under the board maker’s instructions, paddle sections, pump and other intended contents. Record the size of the prepared board and the longest rigid item. Use a seller’s documented packing arrangement where available; do not force a board into a smaller roll to satisfy an assumed bag dimension.
If the kit also includes propulsion equipment, keep its approved transport arrangement separate. A board backpack is not automatically the motor’s protective case or a battery shipping container. The dedicated power-system instructions still govern those components.
Check which parts form each carry mode
Red’s ATB system explanation describes a complete backpack, removable straps and a lightweight carry arrangement. Its design changes what remains around the packed board in each configuration. That is a feature to understand before purchase, rather than a universal claim that every load or route will be comfortable.
Ask which components are included with the particular offer and which arrangement the maker documents for the intended contents. Compare the complete bag weight, handle positions and storage footprint where the supplier provides them. Leave missing measurements visible instead of borrowing figures from another bag generation.
Separate fit from other promises
A successful dimensional comparison does not establish waterproof storage, checked-baggage acceptance or suitability for carrying an assembled powered board. Confirm any such requirement separately. The useful result is a transport plan for the actual packed objects, with unresolved items identified before buying the bag.
See the TRIMIX buying guide for inquiry expectations. To ask about SUP transport equipment, include the board and bag models, packed measurements, paddle and pump identities, your country and any propulsion components. This prepares a question; it does not confirm a listed bag, availability or an order.
