Lost SUP Motor Adapter Hardware? Identify the Retaining Part

A missing piece of retaining hardware can leave a paddleboard motor and its adapter otherwise intact. Before ordering a spare, establish which connection the lost piece secured. Hardware between the motor and the adapter has a different job from hardware that retains the adapter in the board’s fin box.

Name the connection and the adapter

Bixpy’s paddleboard adapter installation index distinguishes the mount to the drive from the way the assembled adapter attaches where the center fin sits. It documents separate adapter families. A purchase note should therefore contain the adapter’s exact name or part number, the motor generation and the fin-box type. Include a photo of the board connection and of the adapter on its own.

Two Bixpy parts illustrate the distinction. The manufacturer describes SP-FSP-1010 as a screw and plate for its US Fin Adapter. It describes SP-FCB-1010 as a replacement fin-lock clip bolt for its Slide & Lock Fin Adapter. The second description names a bolt associated with the clip. If the clip itself is missing or cracked, ask the supplier which separate part or assembly includes it before ordering a bolt.

Keep the original fin hardware in a separate row

A center fin removed during a conversion may have its own retaining pieces. Record the normal fin, motor adapter and motor-to-adapter fasteners separately so you can identify what goes back on the board if you remove the drive. A photograph of a loose fastener gives a supplier less information than the adapter model and a view of the connection it came from. Ask for the manufacturer-specified replacement and the current fitting instructions for your actual adapter.

Use the TRIMIX paddleboard compatibility checklist to assemble the board and drive record. To ask about SUP thruster availability or compatibility, include the board, fin box, motor and adapter models plus the missing piece. The public TRIMIX catalog does not currently list a SUP motor. The Bixpy examples document parts assignments and supply no TRIMIX stock or fit confirmation.
