A fin-box adapter can answer a mechanical fit question while leaving a separate control question unanswered. If a paddleboard contains carbon construction, tell the electric-fin supplier about that material before treating an adapter match as a complete compatibility answer. Keep physical attachment and wireless operation in different rows.
Use the manufacturer’s actual qualification
Boost Surfing’s remote-control support notice says carbon fibre can sometimes interfere with its radio-frequency signal and that remote connectivity may not work as expected on certain carbon boards. The notice was updated November 26, 2025 and remained available when checked October 31, 2026. It is a product-specific qualification, not evidence that every carbon board or every radio-controlled motor has the same issue.
The Boost Fin Long Range description separately describes a wearable radio remote and possible wrist, shoulder or paddle positions. A description of the controller’s intended use does not remove the carbon-board qualification or confirm a particular installation. Do not infer a tested radio path from a photograph of a fitted fin.
Send a material-aware fitment question
Include the board’s exact model, year and the board maker’s construction description alongside the fin-box photographs. Preserve distinctions such as a carbon-containing layer, a carbon construction claim or a carbon paddle; those are different items in the equipment record. Ask the board manufacturer to clarify an uncertain description rather than identifying an internal material by appearance.
Then ask the fin supplier to address the actual complete setup:
- Does its current compatibility evidence cover this board’s model and construction?
- Which exact fin, control hardware and supported configuration does that evidence concern?
- Does the current material-specific notice apply, and is there documented later guidance for this model?
- What manufacturer-approved confirmation process is required before the supplier accepts the combination?
Keep a physical-adapter answer separate from the wireless-control answer. A successful pairing screenshot establishes a narrower observation than an approved control arrangement on the completed board. Likewise, a water-protection rating is not a statement about signal performance through a particular construction.
Treat an unanswered qualification as a purchase condition
Ask for the current written model-specific answer before accepting an offer. Record what was confirmed and what remains unverified; do not fill the gap with a general claim that a product works on most boards. This is a pre-purchase evidence request, not instructions to modify a radio, relocate components without approval or perform powered troubleshooting.
TRIMIX has not measured radio performance, established a fix for the manufacturer’s notice or tested a carbon-board installation. The source’s publication age does not establish that a later product revision resolved the issue. Obtain the current answer for the equipment actually being considered.
Ask about the complete SUP setup
The TRIMIX SUP compatibility checklist covers the wider hardware record. To ask about actual SUP thruster availability and fitment, provide the board, fin-box, motor and adapter models, your country and the specific question above. There is no current public TRIMIX SUP-motor listing. Preparing an inquiry does not confirm supply, compatibility or an order.
Evidence and date notes
