Wet-Lens Mount Adapters: Identify the Housing Side and the Lens Side

Two accessories can mention M67 and XD while doing different jobs. Before buying a wet-lens adapter, identify whether the missing part belongs on the housing side or adapts a particular lens. A shared thread label does not establish the complete optical combination.

Read the product name in the correct direction

INON’s XD Mount page lists housing-side products for PT-056/058/059, for URX100A, and for an M67-equipped housing or port. It separately lists an M67-XD Mount Converter for M67 screw-mount lenses. Those descriptions identify different purchasing positions in a system; they should not be shortened into one generic M67 adapter.

Start the request with the camera and housing, then name the installed housing-side mount. Only then identify the wet lens and any required lens-side converter. This order makes it easier to locate a missing component without assuming that every product on the same accessories page can be combined.

A lens-side converter has a narrower scope

The M67-XD Mount Converter manual, revision 3.1.0 describes use with INON M67 close-up lenses, giving UCL-330 and UCL-165M67 as examples. It explicitly excludes M67 wide-conversion lenses such as UWL-95S M67. Thread size alone therefore does not settle which lens class that converter supports.

The manual’s camera-side compatibility list names XD Mount for PT-056/058/059 and XD Mount for URX100A. It does not list every housing-side product on the webpage. Do not extend that list yourself: request a current manufacturer answer for an unlisted combination. The manual also documents image-corner and accessory-interference limitations, which belong in a supplier discussion rather than disappearing from a parts-only quote.

Write a complete compatibility request

  • The camera and housing model, including the installed port where relevant.
  • The exact housing-side mounting accessory already fitted or proposed.
  • The wet-lens model and its mount version.
  • The converter’s full name and the applicable compatibility document.
  • Any stated image or accessory limitations affecting the intended photograph.

A supplier can then answer whether the proposed combination is documented, needs a different component, or remains unsupported. Keep mechanical attachment separate from optical performance. Neither a thread fitting nor a similar-looking bayonet establishes that the desired image will be available without vignetting or other restrictions.

Use the TRIMIX buying guide and ask about actual camera-accessory availability with that complete list. This article gives no fitting, lubrication, seal or underwater lens-changing procedure and does not establish TRIMIX supply of the examples.

Evergreen buyer guide checked November 6, 2026. The webpage is undated. The manual revision is dated November 2024; its compatibility note states October 2021. Neither month is a new release date today. No optical or fit test was performed by TRIMIX. Preparing an inquiry does not send it or place an order.
